Arrogance... Power Defined
SEIU President Andy Stern in Washington speaks for all of Big Labor when he describes his organizing philosophy: "We prefer to use the power of persuasion, but if that doesn't work, we use the persuasion of power."
Arrogance, conceit, hubris. Those of us who own it cherish the feel of those ego tingles. Sometimes, it's the little things... the millionaire in the mirror, the professor's autobiography on the coffee table, the gold CEO desk curio, a hundred and forty four messages on the machine. Sometimes, it's the macro-mania private jet commute; a suit and tie picture in the NYT. Sometimes, it's just a dream of it all.
And, then, there are the jealous detractors. They ruin the image. Talk about cruelty. I'll guarantee you this: a billion dollar Wall Street bonus wouldn't hurt.
